A court in France has confirmed that Saint Nicholas Cathedral built nearly a century ago on the French Riviera resort of Nice under the charge of Czar Nicholas II is now rightfully owned by the Russians.
The Nice court ruled that the long term lease on the French Riviera property has now run out and Russia can now claim back the Russian Orthodox cathedral.
Father Jean Gueit of the Cathedral said he would appeal against the ruling.
In other French Riviera news, Italian premier Silvio Berlusconi was seen shopping for nudes in the area’s vast array of art galleries.
The Prime Minister visited a French Riviera property in the village of Saint-Paul-de-Vence on the Cote d'Azur, in a break from the usual high-energy world of politics, where he purchased four bronze statuettes.
An art gallery spokesman said the “sensual nudes” purchased by Berlusconi were worth “tens of thousands of pounds”.
