| PARIS PROPERTY – NEW RESIDENTIAL OPPORTUNITIES | The Carlyle Group has recently acquired two mixed use residential and retail buildings in Paris.
The first Paris property located on avenue de Versailles in the 16th arrondissement is a 7,555 square metre residential property. The second is a 2,067 residential property located on rue Marbeuf in the 8th arrondissement.
The work will involve light refurbishment to improve the current property. It is worth noting where these properties are located as these are the areas where investment is being made.
Agnès Riban, co-head of acquisitions in France for Carlyle Real Estate, says: "Carlyle has traditionally focused its real estate investment strategy primarily on the acquisition and development of office properties and, whilst this remains a key sector for us, the acquisitions we have announced today underline Carlyle’s strategy of investing in a more diverse range of real estate assets both in France and across Europe.
Société Générale and Crédit Mutuel financed the acquisitions.
It is reassuring to note that such large organisations are diversifying into investing in residential Paris property which should go some way to reassuring the residential property buyer.
