| Provence and French Riviera Fetes and Festivals – July to December | July
The most prestigious jazz festival in Europe, the Nice Jazz Festival, is held annually in Provence for eight days in July. Arles hosts an international photography exhibition running through to September with over 60 exhibitions of photos from around the world including landscapes, portrait photography and some local images such as beautiful Provence property.
August
In August the lavender fields, which are so iconic of Provence, are harvested and during the first week of August there are a number of parades to celebrate. September
September is a busy month with Cannes International Boat and Yacht Show featuring over 500 boats. It is also the month of the grape harvest so the finest wines will be available now. The International Festival of the Guitar with over 350 concerts in Montpellier takes place now also. Finally the Rencontre les Jardins, the French Chelsea Flower Show takes place in Gassin with over 150 professionals exhibiting.
October
It is sports galore in October with the ‘Tournoi de Golf Master 13’ golf tournament held in Marseille and the Luberon Marathon on the first weekend of the month. Marketing your Provence property in October will be easy if you target people interested in both these activities.
November
In November the local’s attention turns to Christmas and there is a wonderful Christmas market in Avignon with stalls, dancing and Christmas carols. Offering your Provence property to holidaymakers hoping to experience a touch of Christmas magic is a great idea in November and December.
December
The Christmas theme continues into December with all the markets still available right up to the 24th. The town of Grignan has a miniature village annually until the middle of February. It landed a place in the record books as the largest nativity scheme in the world and is well worth a visit for your Christmas holidaymakers.
