ST TROPEZ PROPERTY

Set on the lovely blue water of the Bay of St Tropez, this modern version of a medieval town is most popular for the line of luxurious yachts lining the port, and the facing line of terrace cafés, divided by a parade of strolling tourists and slow cruising expensive cars.

The St Tropez Area is an select area to buy property, and includes luxury properties available to buy in the golden triangle of St Tropez, Ramatuelle, and Gassin up on the hill, as well as surrounding towns of St Raphael, Ste Maxime, Port Grimaud as well as the satellite villages of Grimaud, Plan de La Tour, and La Garde Freinet.
Saint Tropez was originally just a sleepy fishing village frequented by painters and writers.

Saint Tropez became "St Trop" when the show business people, artists and writers all fell under the spell of this charming little port in the 1950's. In the summer one could bump into Picasso, Francoise Sagan, Jacques Prévert and many others. However it was in 1956, that this sleepy town was put on the map when Brigitte Bardot starred in "And God Created Woman" in the heart of Saint Tropez. Suddenly it was the pinnacle of chic and everybody wanted to be there. Since then, stars, paparazzi and tourists have turned up in ever increasing numbers, flooding the town every summer season for a little dash of luxury.
The town is teeming with cobble stone streets winding through picturesque old buildings.  However despite the historical significance and beauty of the town, it is more renowned for the number of high class boutiques, and local and international designer label stores.

Renowned as the International tourist Mecca, St Tropez boasts enviable weather conditions all year-round. There is little fluctuation in temperature throughout the year, escaping the scorching heat of summer and the cold wet winters that are known to other French Riviera beach resorts. On the rarity when rainfall does occur, it does not last for long. With more than 3000 hours of sunshine a year, visitors can therefore be assured that most of their beach vacations will be bright and sunny.
Although summer days can be quite hot, with average temperatures hovering around 30°C and sea temperature ranging between early and late 20's, St Tropez doesn't experience the unbearable sweltering temperatures and humidity of other renowned Mediterranean destinations.

The beaches of St Tropez are located along the coast in the Baie de Pampelonne, south of St Tropez and east of Ramatuelle.  Pampelonne offers a coastline of legendary beauty with fine white sandy beaches and crystal clear blue waters, contrasting hinterland villages and internationally renowned vineyards which combine to grant the Plage de Pampellone its notorious name.
