One of our favourite places is the Isle St. Louis which is located very close to Notre Dame.

This island is connected to Paris by bridges to both banks of the river and by the Pont Saint Louis to the Île de la Cité. It is a peaceful oasis in the busy Paris centre. Isle St. Louis has narrow one-way streets, no metro stations and only two bus stops. Majority of the island is residential,l however there are several restaurants, shops and cafés.
The area around The Notre Dame is very beautiful and is truly an overwhelming place. This is an amazing building. You can’t help but stand outside and be amazed at the architectural beauty of this cathedral. Once you enter the building, it is still just as beautiful. The stained glass is stunning, and the sculpture work inside the cathedral is also very impressive.
Also during your visit, take some time to go explore the side rooms. These rooms at times do get very busy but worth the wait if you like history and art.
Planning your visit, we recommend at least one to two hours to really see everything.
Great place to go, even if you’re not religious, or Christian.
Opening hours
The cathedral is open every day of the year from 8:00 am to 6:45 pm (7:15 pm on Saturdays and Sundays).
Access to the cathedral is open and free of charge every day of the year, during the opening hours.
