Great article in the Sunday Times today focussing on a Home Hunts client who we helped to buy a wonderful chateau in the South of France.

As the Queen’s trusted coachman, Philip Barnard-Brown drove Michelle Obama, two Russian presidents, and Prince Harry and Meghan on their wedding day. But after 19 years of living at Buckingham Palace, the Australian horseman thought: “Every man should have his own castle.”

So with his wife, Janet, he moved to the derelict Château de la Fare in the south of France and found a legend of treasure and links to the Three Musketeers. Now a new Channel 4 series, Chateau DIY, captures the couple’s adventures as they restore the 35-room landmark themselves, even single-handedly rebuilding a lost turret 50ft above the ground.
