British buyers avoided renovation projects in France for years after the global recession, but a renewed zest for them has started to emerge. “This has been particularly noticeable in the past six to nine months,” says Tim Swannie, director of the buying agency Home Hunts. “Prices have started to rise in markets such as Paris, Provence and the Riviera, and clients are increasingly looking for properties where they can add value.”
