Description

The Chateau is perched on the eastern edge of the famous plateau of Pomerol, near the Saint Emilion appellation. A specific feature of this area is the great diversity of its soils with a mixture of brown gravelly soils, clayey molasses with iron dirt, and sandy clay soils on deep depths, giving the wines a complexity that requires long-term storage to fully express its potential.

In 2004, the owners replaced the staff with a highly skilled team, expanded the vineyard, installed a new vat room using gravity-feed technology, in order to emphasize and magnify the estate and the appellation.

THE VINEYARD
The 10 hectare (approx 24.70 acres : 8.5 ha as Pomerol and 1.5 ha as Lalande de Pomerol) encepagement (grape variety make up), employing biologic techniques (near organic farming) to limit the use of harmful chemicals, is planted with a majority of Merlot – a highly 90 percent – along with 10 percent of Cabernet Franc. 5,500 vines per ha and average age of the vines is 30 years.

Bottling at the Estate is by a bottling service provider. Packing and order picking at the Estate. New farm equipment in perfect condition.

Harvesting – Culture, manually and mechanically at perfect maturity. Integrated farming, leaf removal, thinning, and green harvest.
